4th arrest over Crete synagogue burning


il, Defense Ministry and "field-nation-society" (Shlach) department of the Education Ministry came to an agreement Monday evening on a plan that would allow Bnei Akiva members to have part in this weekend's memorial observance for the Lamed Heh, 35 Haganah fighters who died in a combat throughout January 1948, when an old Arab they let go tipped off his comrades.

Under the agreement, Bnei Akiva will march with other youth groups, students and soldiers, and have part with them in the memorial observance. The march will continue to the hill of combat and those that want to can stay for a performance by the Israel Defense Forces' Ground Forces Band. Bnei Akiva boys said earlier that they would not recede to the performance so as not to violate a religious ban on listening to women sing
