Bet El citizens Build Home in Opposition to Freeze

Bet El citizens completed building a fresh house Wednesday afternoon inside their population in spite of restrictions on Jewish consturction in the area. The house was built at the foot of the home of Rabbi Zalman Baruch Melamed Shlita.

National Union Chairman, MK Yaakov Katz, spoke at the home's inauguration and condemned the recent words of President Peres in Germany. "Instead of honoring Israel, Peres debased her by saying that the Land of Israel is not ours. He humiliated us on unclean soil, saturated with the blood of the Jewish people, and in front of the grandchildren of our killers.”

"Shimon Ben Matityahu, the Hasmonean, who ruled the Jewish people thousands of years before Peres was born asserted ‘Not a foreign land have we conquered’. Our homeland will stay ours long after Peres is gone," he added.
