Jewish activists on Tuesday broke through a barrier blocking off the Zion Path in Hevron, which for the past decade has been closed off to Jews. Leading the marchers were Rabbi Dov Lior and Daniella Weiss. No request had been filed with police to conduct the march, yet IDF soldiers and police did not attempt to cease the march, which had been well publicized in ads and flyers. The march lasted for about 3 hours and the marchers stopped at significant spots along the way, including areas where Jews have been murdered in the city. The marchers also reached ancient Elonei Mamreh, which was home to Avraham Avinu, and went as far as Hill 26, where Nati Ozeri, who was killed by Arab murderers, had lived. The march was organized by the Hevron Seed Group, which stated it would continue activities to reclaim the city for the Jewish people.
