The Culture Ministry announced Sunday morning that it will transfer about 1.5 million shekels to the non-profit organization that runs the fresh Andalusian Orchestra. The funding represents a victory for the Histadrut Labor Federation, which has been fighting for the orchestra's musicians and other workers for two years.

The struggle was began since the members were payed NIS 1,250 a month, with no benefits, and the city of Ashdod moved to fracture up the group. The Histadrut created the non-profit organization that eventually got the funding as a way of keeping the orchestra going
