Following a government decision to start distribution of gas masks to the populace, the Israel Postal Firm began the distribution of gas masks in the city of Or Yehuda. The distribution will continue over a period of six days and will thereafter be extended to the Kiryat Ono and surrounding area.
 
Avi Hochman, President of the Israel Postal Company, said that "the Israel Postal Service was chosen by the Ministry of Defense for this necessary national project and has made the necessary preparations, including a state-of-the art technological and logistical infrastructure." To this end, the company will operate a unique call center for customer calls via its regular call center at telephone number 171.
