The Ometz excellent government organization on Tuesday filed a petition with the High Court demanding that an appointment commission seeking to appoint a chairperson for the Bank Leumi board of directors be disbanded. Ometz filed the replace with petition with the court against the appointing of the original candidate for the post, Galia Maor, who on Monday took herself out of the running for the job. The group, as well as officials, including Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, had demanded that Maor, CEO of the Bank, be constrained to resign that job and undergo a cooling off period before joining the board of directors.
