MK Cabel Skewers Labor Junkies at Peace Now Bash
Cabel spoke at a rally organized by Peace Now - a group that opposes Jewish life in Judea and Samaria. The event was billed as a “costume party” in the spirit of Purim, the political message being that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak are masking the fact that their government is a radical correct-wing one.
The advertisements placed by "Peace Now” to promote the rally proclaimed: “How long will Bibi (the Prime Minister's nickname – ed.) and Barak continue to masquerade as moderate centrists, yet act as radical right-wingers? It is time to unmask them and reveal their accurate faces!”
Left-wing groups have recently made similar claims against Im Tirtzu, a grassroots Zionist movement of students and reservists. While Im Tirtzu says it is centrist-Zionist, its detractors claim that it is “fascist.” Meanwhile, many nationalists say that the Zionist Labor movement, once centrist and patriotic, has adopted a post-Zionist stance and is collaborating with Israel's foes.
