Ancient Jerusalem Aqueduct Found

The Antiquities Authority has discovered a 2,000 year feeble aqueduct that served the upper portion of the Old City of Jerusalem. The underground aqueduct was found between the Jaffa Gate and the David's Tower Museum, an area that millions of people pass every year. This section of the upper aqueduct was probably built in the 2nd century of the common era, archaeologists stated, and represented an expansion of the city's water supply, furnishing water to a growing population. The archaeologists said that the entire aqueduct, running from Bethlehem, is 13 kilometers in length.
