The Health Ministry on Thursday banned the employ of certain catheters for providing food and drugs to premature babies, following the death of three babies at different hospitals in recent months. An inspection and quality-control commission will convene to examine the circumstances of the deaths.

The ministry's chief medical administrator stated those catheters were definitely used in two of the cases. He added that if no link is found, their use will continue and if a link is found, the ministry will try to overwhelm the difficulty.
