The Ometz excellent government organization has filed a petition with the High Court asking that it reconsider a decision not to try attorney Uri Messer for his role in the "envelopes affair," in which previous Prime Minister Ehud Olmert received hundreds of thousands of dollars in "contributions" from various donors, as well for his role in helping to arrange deals for Olmert when he headed an investment center as Industry, Trade and Labor Minister. According to the organization, Messer is also a public servant who "should be attempted for his alleged crimes, for damaging the public and the civil service."
