In an interview with Arutz 7, Holon Mayor Moti Sasson stated that citizens of his city were mad at a decision by the Airports Authority to allow overnight takeoffs from Ben Gurion Airport - and that if the issue was not resolved to their satisfaction, they would conduct demonstrations that would close down the airport. Sasson said that in the past, when overnight takeoffs were permitted, residents of Holon, which most departing flights pass over on takeoff, suffered miserably, and they intend to ensure that the current silent continues.

"The Airports Authority is acting with unfeeling brutality towards the people who live in the path of flights. They have forgotten that hundreds of thousands of people live here. Most airports around the world are closed overnight, for this reason, and if the Authority is allowed to do this, it will be a catastrophe," Sasson said.
