Israel's ambassadors in Britain and Ireland arrived on Tuesday afternoon at meetings in London and Dublin, after being invited by government officials in both nations to discuss the question of the employ of fake British passports by the assassination team that killed Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai. The ambassadors are being asked to 'clarify' how the passports of British citizens living in Israel were used by the alleged assasins of the Hamas terrorist. Israel has not taken claim for the assassination and Dubai authorities have not accused Israel of being accountable, even though a report Tuesday afternoon in Arab media quoted a Dubai official as saying that there was a "very high chance" that the Mossad was involved.

A British diplomatic source was quoted as saying that the ambassadors were asked to discuss the issue "since the tale involves the names of British citizens living in Israel, and we suspect there may be identity theft involved."
