Knesset Expands Powers of Witness Protection Personnel

The Knesset on Monday approved the second and third readings of a law to expand the authority of personnel of the Witness Protection Authority. The security providers will now be able to arrest people,put up temporary field jails, and enter "open private areas" for the purpose of examining them and going on patrol.
The bodyguards are assigned to a witness until the time of testimony. The authority began working a month ago and is in the process of receiving its first witness
