Petition to Reserve Route 443 for Israeli Traffic
Bereaved parents Shmuel Landau and Tzion Sawari, who lost children and other relatives to terrorism on Highway 443 between Jerusalem and the Modi'in area, will be joined by a number of Modi'in citizens at the Shilat checkpoint on Friday to collect signatures on a petition of support for a bill to limit the highway to Israeli traffic. The Supreme Court recently ruled that the road must be opened to Palestinian Authority traffic as well.
The bill is planned for discussion at Sunday's cabinet meeting. It is supposed to address the court's procedural objections to Israel-only traffic on the highway.
