Chairman Danny Dayan of the Yesha Council, which represents the Jewish populations of Judea and Samaria, called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to include the Me'arat Hamachpelah Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron and the Tomb of Rachel, between Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the list of heritage sites to be included in the government's heritage refurbishing plot.

Dayan stated, "A list of heritage sites which does not include Me'arat Hamachpelah and the Tomb of Rachel completely misses the point. It blurs the the people of Israel's connection with its land instead of clarifying it. It causes [people] to forget instead of to remember.
