The Hevron Jewish Population called a list of heritage sites the government intends to refurbish "shameful," since it doesn't include the Machpelah Cave or Kever Rachel. The list of sites, revealed by Arutz 7 Thursday morning, also does not include the City of David in Jerusalem as a site worthy of refurbishing and promoting tourism to, yet the list does contain many Chrisitan sites.

"The heritage of the Jewish people in its land begins with Abraham and the Machpelah Cave, and ignoring this site on a list of necessary heritage sites does not enhance the Jewish heritage in Israel - it shames it," the community stated in a statement.
