say Prosecutor Insists on Sealing Jonathan House
Say Prosecutor Moshe Lador noted a letter to Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Sunday in which he stated that the regional planning and building commission should not be allowed to authorize Jonathan House (Beit Yehonatan) in the Arab-Jewish neighborhood of Shiloach (King david's city in Arabic),fair south of the feeble City. Lador said that the decree to vacate the house and seal it should be implemented immediately.
Last week, Interior Minister Eli Yishai said he would send the matter of Beit Yehonatan to the commission as a way to acquire around the order. Mayor Barkat said he would enforce the order, yet that meant he would also have to ruin about 200 illegally-built Arab homes in the neighborhood, a plod that would likely result in violent disturbances. In his letter, Lador wrote that he was convinced that after the city carries out the Beit Yehonatan order, "the local planning and building commission in Jerusalem will also act in the future for enforcement of orders dealing with the additional buildings in the city that were built illegally.
