Coalition Boycotts Kadima No-Confidence Vote

Coalition Knesset Members Monday evening boycotted a no-confidence motion by Kadima, which violated an accepted practice of not holding no-confidence votes when the Prime Minister is out of the state.
The motion was supported by 30 Opposition MKs, far less than the necessary 61 needed to topple the government. Likud MK Zev Elkin, now a member of the Likud, quoted Kadima MK Meir Sheetrit, who stated that his party was making a joke of itself by holding the no-confidence vote.
