Diplomat Iran Nuclear Fuel Exchange Deal Cant Work

A Western diplomat who asked not to be named told reporters Monday evening that the uranium fuel agreement Iran hit with Turkey and Brazil "cannot work" since it fails to allocate enough time to create the fuel for Iran's nuclear reactor. The finished fuel is considered less of a weapons risk than the low enriched uranium used to make it.
Referring to the low-grade uranium Iran would send to Turkey, the diplomat stated, "The uranium will be in Turkey, and the deal is that after one year they can hold it back. So as we know that it will take more than one year to give them the fuel, that means that... after one year, they can take it back and then wait for the fuel to approach six months later." He added, "There is something tricky there, yet we will see in a year. It is still too early."
