Ethiopians Protest Delays in Immigration of Relatives
Dozens of members of the Ethiopian Jewish population braved wind and rain outside an Ashdod building where an aliyah (immigration to Israel) and absorption gathering was being held to protest the delay in bringing about 8,700 of their relatives who have been waiting for about a decade to approach to Israel.
At one point, the demonstrators came in the auditorium and confronted Absorption Minister Sofa Landwer, saying the government had politicized the matter while their relatives suffer. She responded that when the government decides to bring them, her ministry will be glad to receive them
