Goose Farmer found guilty of Cruelty to Animals
Over the weekend, the Rishon Letzion Magistrates Court found guilty a goose farmer for cruelty to animals under a law that went into effect in 2006 making it illegal to fatten the birds for the goose-liver market. It is the fourth such case to be prosecuted. Two others are still pending.
The court rejected a contention by the defendant that the technology he developed to feed the geese did not constitute force feeding as prohibited under the law
