Under pressure from the OECD, Israel will try and reduce its dependence on foreign employees. Finance Minister Yuval Shteinitz stated Sunday that the goal for 2010 is to reduce the number of foreign workers by 50,000 and by 2011 by 100,000.
In Israel today there are 225,000 foreign workers, the majority of which (125,000) are in the state illegally
