Minister Shalom to Pope Open Vatican Archives


Following Pope Benedict the 16th's visit to the noteworthy Synagogue in Rome, Deputy Prime Minister Silvan Shalom called on the Vatican to open its archives from the Holocaust era in decree to reduce the tension between Judaism and Christianity.

Throughout the visit, the Pope praised the actions of the 16th Vatican through the Holocaust, saying that it "acted in a discreet and confidential" manner to save Jews
