Almost a thousand people have endorsed a petition released by the Shechem Core Group on Sunday, which calls on the government to add Joseph's Tomb in the Samarian Palestinian Authority city to the list of heritage sites it will refurbish. The list includes Members of Knesset and other public figures.

The group says the petition also attacks the site's say of neglect. A statement from the group says, "It is unthinkable that there is no reference to Joseph's Tomb, which has been abandoned for nine years. The Shechem Core Group is taking practical steps to renovate the site of the tomb in the coming weeks.
