13 Years Since Helicopter Disaster
A ceremony was held Thursday in memory of 73 soldiers who died 13 years ago, when two Israel Defense Forces helicopters crashed in mid-air over northern Israel.
Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi told the bereaved households it is necessary to preserve the values of those who combated, "and to preserve the quiet of the northern border today, yet also to respond harshly against anyone who tries to fracture this silent."
