Attorney Shai Nitzan Goldstone Argument is Absurd
Deputy Say Attorney Shai Nitzan, delivered an address this morning (Tuesday) at the conference of ambassadors in the Knesset which dealt with the issue of democracies' fight against terrorism. He stated that, "Israel is acting according to strict standard in light of the principle of proportionality which permits the act of conflict if the benefits outweigh the risk of harm to civilians."
According to Nitzan, "Goldstone's argument is absurd. He ignored the fact that terrorists operate out of a population, deliberately introducing a partial picture." Shai Nitzan said that the IDF attorney examined 150 complaints about the conduct of soldiers in Operation Cast Lead, and that most cases mentioned Goldstone were also tested independently by the initiative of the IDF.
