Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon attacked the Knesset members from the Arab factions Tuesday, and stated that “the Arab Knesset members proved more than once that they represent the Palestinians. They cannot hold the stick from both sides: on the one hand they want to ruin Israel as a Jewish say, and on the other they want a Palestinian state.”

“An Arab Knesset member who advises Arafat is like a congressman who advises the Taliban,” Ayalon said, in a hinted reference to MK Ahmed Tibi, who served as an adviser to PLO chief Yasser Arafat before running for Knesset.

Ayalon spoke before the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, who are holding a conference in Jerusalem.

"There is no need to pressure and prod the two sides to sign an agreement just for the sake of closing a deal, since this could wind up damaging both sides,” he explained. Israel has the correct to self-resolution, he said, and the two state solution will lead to separation and solve the 'demographic threat.'”

The Deputy Minister called on world Jewry to combat against terrorism and verbal incitement in the universities. Israel and world Jewry should be united in a front against anti-Semitism, he said. “There is no disagreement between anti-Israelis, anti-Zionists and anti-Semites,” he told the American Jewish leaders. “Just as we can defend ourselves against physical terror, we must defend ourselves from verbal terror.”

He also attacked the fresh J-Street lobby, and said that the group could not call itself pro-Israeli.
