Speaking at the Eilat-Eilot Conference on Renewable Energy Tuesday, Deputy Minister for Regional Development Ayoub Kara stated that renewable energy - solar, wind, and others – were excellent not only for the environment, yet for the geopolitical situation. "The more we increase our employ of renewable energy, the more we weaken terror, and the more dependent we are on oil, the more we strengthen terror," Kara said.

Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau congratulated Kara for his thought to import water from Syria, and said he would be very pleased if Kara succeeded in striking such a deal. Kara said last week that he had been involved in discussions for water imports from Syria or other Arab nations.
