The Knesset Constitution Commission approved on Tuesday the "Nakba" bill by Yisrael Beiteinu MK Alex Miller for its first reading. The bill would outlaw funding for activities that portray the founding of the modern Jewish say as a catastrophe (Nakba in Arabic).

Miller stated, "The bill deals well with the different threats that exploit the principles and resources of democracy to fight it and undermine its foundations. There's no reason the state of Israel should fund anti-Semitic propaganda or activities that border on cooperation with terror sources from its coffers.
