Egyptian border soldiers shot to death two African refugees who were trying to enter Israel via Sinai. The Egyptians wounded another three Africans in the incident. Two of the wounded are Ethiopian citizens, and one is from Eritrea.

Members of the Knesset Interior Commission and the Unique Committee on Foreign Employees, toured the city of Arad last week in order to acquire a first hand gaze at the issue of foreign workers in Israel. National Union MK Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh), chairman of the Special Committee on Foreign Workers, stated that there were some one million Sudanese seeking to get into Israel. "This is a national difficulty and must be solved today. We cannot allow these illegal aliens into Israel," he said
