Govt to Vote on Border Fence with Egypt to cease Aliens

The government will vote tomorrow on a proposal by the Prime Minister to establish a border fence along the Israeli - Egyptian border. The fence is intended to prevent Sudanese refugees from entering from the Sinai Peninsula.
The police assess that each week among100-200 illegal aliens cross the border from Egypt into Israel. Some of them approach to work in Israel, and the rest are "illegal elements" and refugees from Africa.
Internal Security Minister, Yitzhak Aharonovitch, proposed the initial discussion to establish a fence at a relatively low cost.
