Human Rights Ctee Dont Confiscate Yesha Weapons

Chairwoman Orit Strook of the Human Rights Organization of Judea and Samaria stated Tuesday morning that weapons should not be confiscated from Jewish citizens of the area. In a statement prepared for a Knesset Interior Commission hearing on weapons confiscation, the Hevron resident said, "The difficulty in Judea and Samaria is serious since, on one hand, the weapon is needed for self defense (and not hunting) in an area full of danger, while many residents have police records, which are not from violence or illegal behavior, yet for participation in protest activity.
She noted that the organization receives dozens of calls weekly from people who have been harmed by weapons confiscation and has to supply legal assistance for at least one of them
