Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi of the Israel Defense Forces has requested that the IDF's facilities for training in urban warfare be inspected for safety problems. The order was issued after the lieutenant-general received the conclusions of an inquiry into the death of Corporal Mor Cohen at the Zeora training facility in the Golan Heights on December 21, when a bullet fired by a fellow soldier went through a hole in a wall.

Meanwhile, the Investigative Army Police are conducting their own investigation into the accident, the conclusions of which will be transferred to the Military Prosecution which will determine whether to press charges and against whom.
