Ikea will open its second store in Israel on March 9, the firm's Israeli representatives stated Tuesday. The fresh branch of the international chain selling Swedish-designed furniture will be opened near Rishon Lezion, and is providing 500 new jobs in the area. The company's Israeli management has invested NIS 400 million (over $100 million) in the project.

Ikea has already planned a third outlet in Israel, this one to be built between Haifa and Akko. When that store is complete, a spokesperson for Ikea Israel said, sales of the local Ikea stores should top NIS 1 billion annually.
