Jerusalem fresh standard for Building Demolitions
The Jerusalem municipality adopted fresh standard for the demolition of illegally-built structures in the city Thursday evening. The new criteria call for the destruction of buildings in open areas that are not intended as residences, as well as abnormal building on parcels of 300 square meters or more. Buildings of historical or architectural importance will not be destroyed.
The Meretz faction on the city council says the significance of the new criteria is that demolitions will be carried out first in Arab neighborhoods
