The Knesset will discuss an assault on Saturday night against MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) in the Shimon Hatzaddik neighborhood of Jerusalem. An Arab woman hurled water at MK Ben-Ari and his children as they were preparing to leave the neighborhood after spending Shabbat there.

Officials originally declined to place the issue on the Knesset's agenda, a plod which engendered a protest by MK Eliezer Mozes (UTJ), and a discussion of the attack was placed on the Knesset agenda. MK Carmel Shama, one of the officials in charge of the Knesset agenda, stated that the decision had been made in the wake of the protest by Mozes and other Mks. The discussion will relate to the feasible danger MK Ben-Ari was in, as well as to the disrespect shown to an Israeli government official.
