The Knesset on Wednesday will vote on its first reading on a law that would prosecute "spiritual harassment" for religious reasons. The law would add a section to existing harassment laws that would allow prosecution of individuals who are bullied into trusting a spiritual advisor, as well as supply for prosecution of such advisors if they hold unfair advantage of their followers, even though the relationship was voluntary. 

The law was proposed by MK Otniel Schneller, who stated that "there can be no immunity for spiritual harassment,fair as there is no immunity for sexual harassment."
