Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman is planned to leave on Sunday for Brussels, where he will meet with his counterparts in the European Union and senior EU officials on the need to hold significant steps to prevent the continued tries by Iran to achieve nuclear capability, other issues relating to the Middle East and bilateral matters. Attention will focus on his previously scheduled meeting with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband since of the employ of British passports in the elimination of senior Hamas terrorist Mahmoud Mabhouh in Dubai last month.

The trip will label the first meeting of a senior Israeli official with Baroness Catherine Ashton since she replaced Javier Solana as EU foreign-policy chief. The deputy prime minister also intends to meet with the European Friends of Israel
