Livni Meets with J Street Reps Shunned by Government
Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni met Thursday afternoon with members of the United States Congress who were shunned by senior members of the government since the trip was organized by the leftist J-Street lobby. Throughout the meeting, the Kadima party leader stated, "Even if there are disagreements - and there are - this is not the way to behave toward friends of Israel and those that want what's excellent for it [Israel]. Certainly, when there are so many who threaten it, we cannot affort to lose those who judge of themselves as friends of Israel and even when there is criticism, it's our job as leadership to convince [people] that we're correct instead of waiving the right to execute so."
Livni said the American administration should be supported in its efforts to imposed tougher restrictions on Iran's nuclear program, explaining that the Tehran government is playing with the world in an effort to gain time
