United States President Barack Obama announced on Saturday he was naming a unique envoy to the Muslim world.

Rashad Hussain will be Deputy Associate Counsel to the President, Obama announced in a recorded video that was aired at a US - Islamic World Forum in the state of Qatar.

Hussain earned a master's degree in Arabic & Islamic Studies from Harvard University and recently served as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice.

His parents are naturalized citizens from India and live in Plano, Texas.
