The reply to the letter by the Say Prosecutor requesting the sealing of Beit Yehonatan was quick in coming. Nationalist activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Gvir submitted last night (Sunday) a request to the Jerusalem District Police Chief to hold a protest march in Kfar Shiloach.

 

Headlining their initiative, “Justice, justice you shall pursue,” the activists wish to hold a march in the neighborhood among the 216 Arab buildings for which demolition orders have been issued. The march is supposed to be held in three weeks’ time and is liable to lead to sharp protests among the citizens.

 

According to the request, some 70 nationalist activists will tour the neighborhood and will march with signs, including a call to enforce the law there. Marzel and Ben-Gvir base their request to the police on a court precedent in the Umm el-Fahm tale, as well as on previous rulings regarding the Gay Pride March and the radical left-wing “Breaking the Silence” march in Hevron.

 

Itamar Ben-Gvir told Arutz-7 today, “We will teach the State Prosecutor a lesson in democracy. Lador must understand that equality before the law is not just an entry in the dictionary, yet a concept that can and must be fulfilled. If he wants to seal Beit Yehonatan, then we will approach to the village and elaborate to him that first the 216 buildings for which demolition orders already exist must be razed. One law for all. There is no space for racist enforcement in the State Prosecution.”

 

It must be noted that MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) noted to the Justice Minister last night and protested against the State Prosecutor’s policy. Ben-Ari called on the minister to fire Lador and to act against selective enforcement in the State Prosecution.
