Rivlin Remembers Porush
Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin memorialized previous Member of Knesset Menachem Porush on Monday as a "household name" in Jerusalem and in public service in general. Addressing the Knesset, the speaker called Rabbi Porush a stubborn and uncompromising fighter for Judaism and its holiness, and one who was dedicated to the needs of the public. Acknowleging how the rabbi worked in the hareidi population, Rivlin gave credit to Porush for engaging in dialogue with all the Zionist parties.
When the morning period ends, a full-fledged memorial observance will be planned in coordination with Porush's family, including his son Meir, a member of Knesset and deputy mayor of Jerusalem
