Dubai police chief Dhafi Khalfan announced on Monday that two Arabs, including a Palestinian Authority security officer, have been arrested over the suffocation murder of senior Hamas figure Mahmud Al-Mabhouh in a hotel room in the emirate of Dubai on January 20, a day after his arrival. According to Al-Arabiya, Jordan handed over one of the suspects.

Responding to Hamas claims that Israel eradicated the terrorist, Chief Khalfan stated that he had not ruled out the involvement of the Mossad Israeli intelligence office or other parties , yet that investigators were issuing arrest warrants for 11 suspects with European passports, who arrived and left in less than a day. Al-Mabhouh, one of the founders of Hamas's Izzadin Al-Kassam terror wing,  is believed to be behind the abduct-murder of Israeli soldiers Avi Sasportas and Ilan Sa'adon.
