The director of the Likud's Yesha region, Shevach Stern, stated that he was "extremely and deeply disappointed" by accounts that historic sites like the Machpelah Cave, Rachel's Tomb, the City of David, and Tel Shilo would not be included in the government's heritage refurbishing plot.

"We believe there is no space for doubt regarding our rights to these sites, the roots of our existence in Israel. We call on Likud ministers and Mks to prevent a national embarrassment and to alter the decision," said Stern.
