Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau has authorized fresh regulations that will allow many more people to set up solar energy systems on their roofs to generate power. Over the next five years, anyone will be able to install a system on the roof of their home or trade to generate up to four kilowatts of electricity, while all citizens and business owners in the Negev and Galil will be able install systems to generate up to 50 kilowatts of power.

Residents of the center of the state who want to set up systems to generate more than 4 kilowatts will be required to seek a permit, Landau stated.
