Ministry Gets Thousands of Calls from Stranded Tourists
Due to the disruption of flights to Europe as a result of the volcanic eruption in Iceland, the Tourism Ministry’s information office in Ben-Gurion airport has been receiving thousands of calls from tourists stranded
in Israel.
The Tourist Information Office says it is helping tourists find hotels in the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem areas, in accordance with their requests and is providing information on other services they require in Israel.
The mayors of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv answered the call of the Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov and today will produce an information booklet for those tourists stranded in Israel. This booklet, which will include information about services in the city, as well as places of entertainment and any occurrences taking place at this time, will be distributed at hotels in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv by the relevant Hotels Organization.
The Tourism Information Office at Ben-Gurion airport is operati 24/7 and is staffed by workers who speak several languages. Tourists can contact the office via the Tourphone: *3888
